Self-defence training for students concludes in GCW Udhampur

A four-day long self-defence training program for students of Government College for Women Udhampur concluded, here today.The training program was organized on the directions of IQAC and Women Development Cell under the guidance of HQ Northern Command.

The training, which saw the participation of 80 students aged 18-20 years, was imparted to them by instructors from 103 TA BN and 4 Para. The trainers  boosted morale and motivated the students. Capt. Sangeeta Mall, AOC was the chief guest at the valedictory event.

Students were trained in basic art of self-defence like use of physical force, which is permitted in certain cases as an answer to any untoward incident against the girl child.Principal, Prof. Monika Sharma applauded the Convener, Dr. Anita Sharma, the program coordinator, Dr. Kamal Deep Kaur, the instructors and the students for making the event successful. The event was attended by the senior faculty members, and the members of IQAC and WDC.
