DC Bandipora convenes meeting of DTF on Measles & Rubella elimination

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Monday convened a meeting of District Task Force (DTF) to give impetus to the progress of Measles-Rubella Elimination in the district.The meeting discussed threadbare various issues regarding the implementation of roadmap formulated by the Government for Measles, Rubella Elimination from the country. 

It was informed that the global increase in vaccination coverage for measles and rubella has substantially reduced infections and disease burden, and the key deliverables to be monitored, is  to achieve more than 95% coverage of MR 2nd dose, reducing dropout rate to zero. 

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that Government is committed for measles and Rubella elimination by 2023.He said Measles-Rubella campaign is a part of global efforts to reduce illness and deaths due to measles and rubella and stressed upon stakeholders to work in coordination for achieving maximum coverage during the campaign.
