Free medical camp held in Panchayat Karloop as part of B2V4; Villagers hail efforts of Government

A Free Medical Camp was today organized for villagers in Panchayat Karloop as follow-up of the fourth phase of Back to Village (B2V4) program of the Jammu and Kashmir government. Scores of villagers including women and men were screened for eye and other health ailments during the medical camp. 

The medical camp was organized under the guidance of Joint Commissioner of Jammu Municipality Corporation, (JMC), Hitesh Gupta, who was appointed as Prabhari officer of the Panchayat for a year after the culmination of the B2V4 to achieve deliverables and complete the tasks. During the medical camp, MBBS, MS Fellow Orbit & Oculoplasty, Dr Manju Kumari, screened people for eye-related ailments and distributed medicines.

She also asked people to take care of their eyes and prevent further problems.Moreover, a medical team also checked the Blood Pressure (BP) and Blood Sugar levels of people. They also motivated people to stay healthy.

Speaking on the occasion, Hitesh Gupta informed people about the government’s flagship health insurance scheme Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).He asked people to register for the scheme and avail healthcare benefits.  

He further directed concerned officials and Panchayat representatives to assist people in the registration process. Hailing the initiative of the government, Sarpanch Harjit Singh said that this camp will help to diagnose villagers with eye-related ailments. 

“This camp will not only diagnose, but the doctor will also guide them to cure the problems,” he said. He further hailed the government’s outreach program Back to Villages. He said that the program is helping to address long-pending issues in the Panchayat. 

Sarpanch Harjit Singh further thanked Joint commissioner of Jammu Municipality Corporation, (JMC), Hitesh Gupta for taking up their issues with concerned authorities. The medical camp was supported by Non-Government Organisation (NGO) Regional and Urban Development Agency and AGROCEL Industries Pvt Ltd.  

Panchayat Representatives, Asha workers, Medical officers and officials of other departments were present on the occasion.
