Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri was shot dead on Friday in Amritsar, Punjab. Canada-based gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa alias Landa Harike has claimed responsibility for Suri's murder. Harike claimed responsibility for Suri's murder in a social media post and said it was just the beginning. However, the post was later deleted. Earlier, police said Suri was killed outside Gopal Mandir on Majitha Road, one of the busiest areas of the city, where he along with others sat on a dharna.
Lakhbir Singh Landa's Facebook Post
According to the Facebook post, "our brothers" were responsible for the murder. Threats to harm individuals "who talk against the kaum or any faith" were included in the post from an account that included Landa's photo. “By increasing security, they should not think that they are safe. Those brothers who we stand with will be supported till our last breath. It is just the beginning, taking rights is still pending,” the post read.
Sudhir Suri Was Protesting Outside The Temple
Police said that Suri along with his comrades was staging a sit-in outside the temple after some fragmented idols were found on the roadside. He said that it was a case of desecration of idols. Suri Gopal was opposing the management of the temple. According to the police, more than five bullets were fired at Suri and she was taken to the hospital where she died. Sandeep Singh, an accused in Suri's murder, has been arrested and the weapon used in the crime has also been confiscated.

About Sudhir Suri Murder Case
The murder of Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri in Amritsar would be thoroughly investigated, according to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav on Friday. The culprit had been detained, according to the Punjab DGP, and a murder case had been filed under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
DGP Yadav, "It is an unfortunate incident and we condemn it strongly. I have come to review the situation on the spot where the unfortunate incident happened. The assailant has been arrested on the spot and an FIR under Section 302 has been against the accused. The investigation is being done. All the angles including conspiracies behind the murder and all those who are behind the incident are being probed."
Who is Landa Harike aka Lakhbir Singh Landa?
For your information, Lakhbir Singh, aka Landa (33), has also been identified as the primary organiser of the RPG attack on the Mohali headquarters of the Punjab Police. According to additional reports, Landa was the subject of the first case under the Arms Act filed at Harike Pattan in July 2011. In the districts of Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Moga, and Ferozepur, he is accused in 18 criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, and drug trafficking.
