Dr. Sunil Gupta, DIG Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range today inaugurated T-20 Police Cricket Premier League here at Sports stadium, Doda in presence of Vishesh Pal Mahajan, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Abdul Qayoom SSP Doda, Sanjeev Khajuria, CO IRP 5th Bn. Master Popsy, Addl. SP Doda, Mohammad Altaf, ASP Bhaderwah, Raj Kumar, SP Ops Doda, Rajesh Gill, CPO Doda (Convener) and other officers/officials from civil and police Administration.

 Dr. Sunil Gupta was the Chief Guest of the function.A March Past of the participating teams followed by singing of the National Anthem was held before the start of the inaugural match. The DIG DKR also administered the oath of Sportsmanship to the participants. 

A colourful cultural programme by different schools of Doda marked the Inaugural Ceremony.The opening ceremony generated immense enthusiasm among the locals.Speaking on the occasion, the DIG DKR Range congratulated the participants and wished them good luck for the tournament. 

He said that the event will provide a perfect platform to local youth to showcase their performance and hone their skills.The DIG DKR Range further said that the police will continue to engage the youth in different sports and other activities to keep them away from the social evils like drugs as the main theme of the tournament is also on “KHELO KHEL BHOOLO NASHA”.

He also congratulated the girl team of Delhi, which was in Doda to play the exhibition matches with Doda girl cricket team and the inaugural ceremony winner trophy to Delhi Divine Girls cricket team, and won the three match series by defeating Doda Diamonds Girls Cricket Team by 2-1.  

Shweta Rana of Doda Team was awarded with the Player of the series, Kajal of Delhi was awarded with the Best Batsman Trophy and Pooja Jha of Delhi was awarded with Best Bowler Trophy.The DIG DKR Range also thanked the SSPs of the districts of the range and especially sponsors adding that without their support it was impossible to imagine an event at such a huge scale.

Presenting Vote of thanks, SSP Doda thanked DIG DKR Range for giving Doda police the opportunity to host the mega event. He also thanked to Deputy Commissioner for his full support for managing everything to make the tournament successful.
