Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, today visited  Court Complex, Udhampur and inaugurated e- Seva Kendra, e-filling online application, N Step counter and  e-filling help desk counter besides defense counsel office there.

Chief justice also laid foundation stone for ADR center here.Justice Sindhu Sharma, Administrative Judge for Udhampur district, accompanied the Chief Justice.During the visit, Chief Justice met the members of Bar Association Udhampur and listened to their demands besides interacting with Judicial Officers of the distrcit.

 Meanwhile, Jai dev Singh Slathia and Ranjit Parihar welcomed Chief Justice  by  presenting bouquet on behalf of Bar and Judicial employees of Udhampur district.Pertinently, the services introduced through e-Seva Kendra will give timely relief to the litigants/lawyers and other people for filing of their cases by e-mode while at their respective places without approaching the courts physically. 

Besides, it will also prove to be an additional and effective benefit made available to the public at large in strengthening the objective of access to justice and timely dispensation. This service will also enable online purchase of stamp papers besides applying and obtaining of Adhaar Card based digital signatures, booking of mulakat appointments, among other services.

Chief Justice Magrey, who is also the Executive Chairman of J&K Legal Services Authority (J&K LSA), in his presidential address, asked the Judicial Officers to put in best efforts for speedy delivery of Justice to litigants and ensure effective trial on each and every hearing. 

He said providing brisk access to justice is the main objective of the judiciary. Keeping in view the future needs, he stressed upon to identify land for expansion of Udhampur court complex as the present building is insufficient. "By availing modern digital services, the litigants and advocates will be able to file their cases with much ease as compared to manual filing which is time consuming and expensive." he added.

He further said that legal service authorities are playing a pivotal role in reaching out to people in need and opening of these E- services has provided a new window to advocates and litigants. He added that we are living in a country having vast and unique diversity in preserving the constitutional rights of every citizen. 

He added that by working collectively we can transform the system and can make justice delivery system more effective.Speaking on the occasion, Justice Sindhu Sharma highlighted the aim and objectives of e -sewa  kendra  and  other facilities inaugurated by  Chief justice today. She appealed the bar association to avail  benefits of  digital  services so that  justice delivery system  could reach at the door step of needy.

Registrar General, Sanjeev Gupta; Member Secretary J&K Legal Services Authority, M K Sharma; Principal Secretary to Chief Justice, Rajeev Gupta; Registrar Vigilance,  Shahzad  Azeem, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Udhampur,  Y P Bourney, Central Project Coordinator, Anoop Kumar Sharma, Joint Registrar (J) Protocol, Dinesh Gupta, Director SKPA, Gareeb Dass, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur,   Krittika  Jyotsna, DIG Udhampur Reasi Range,  Mohammad Suleman Choudhary, SSP Udhampur, Dr Vinod Kumar, Judicial Officers of Udhampur and other senior officers of district administration were also present on the occasion.

Principal District & Session Judge presented welcome address while Secretary, DLSA, Rajni Sharma acted as stage Secretary and also presented vote of thanks.
