Farmers encouraged for High Density plantation in Doda

Horticulture Department Doda, organised Awareness camp under Jan Abhiyan programme at Kotli Kashtighar Zone Assar. Chief Horticulture officer, Rakesh Kotwal was the Chief Guest. Among others Manager cum Chemist Bhaderwah B.B Pangotra, Horticulture Development Officer Assar, Rohan Kumar and officers of Allied Department viz Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and JK Bank were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Horticulture Officer, in his address, asked the participant to bring more and more areas under High Density plantation of Fruit plants in the coming season, especially Apricot, Pear plum and lime for which the land and climate is most suitable.

“The department is providing 50% subsidy to the interested and eligible applicant under all schemes like Area expansion, Irrigation facilities, Mechanisation ,Nursery establishment etc,” he informed,The Manager cum Chemist Bhaderwah, in his address, stressed on establishment of Processing units for fruit and vegetables under CAPEX scheme for which the department is providing 50-60% subsidy to the applicant. 

The HDO Assar presented the vote of thanks to the participant. The programme was widely hailed by the participants and asked the department to organise more such programmes in near future.
