A series of activities, under Jan Abhiyan, were today carried out by the line departments across Kathua district to saturate identified deliverables besides sensitize people about developmental and flagship schemes of the government and promote Swacchta and Anti- Drug campaigns.
The Department of Social Forestry is carrying out different activities in different panchayats , the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Director, Department of Social Forestry J&K, Roshan Jaggi on Tuesday held an elaborate interaction with Village Panchayat Plantation Committees (VPPCs)/ PRI members of Panchayats, viz., Jatwal, Nonath, Sarara, Sangwali, Dhalli.
NSS Units of Government Degree College Kathua organized “Mega Swachhata Drive” under Clean India Campaign 2.0. The campaign was organised in Twelve (12) Panchayat Halqas, Two Municipality committees and premises of Government Degree College Kathua.
A large number of NSS Volunteers took part in this Mega Swachhata drive who organised this campaign in their respective localities and handed over the collected plastic and polythene waste to their respective local representatives like Sarpanch, Panch, Chairman and Councillor of their Panchayat and wards.
The Revenue Department also conducted a series of activities including showing records on the LRIS portal under the AZAN campaign in Mooni, Dinga Amb, Nagrota, Bani distributed land passbooks among land owners under' Aap ki Zameen, Aap ki Nigrani' and attestation of inheritance mutation in presence of PRI members.
Similarly, the Agriculture Department distributed Soil Health Cards among the beneficiaries whereas Jal Shakti Department conducted awareness on Amrit Sarovar Water Testing in Budhi and Nanan panchayats.
Likewise, the Education Department conducted sanitation drives, besides decorating classrooms, painting IEC material on walls of schools in all zones of the district, as part of the “My School My Pride” initiative.
Meanwhile, the Health Department Kathua mobilized ASHA workers to conduct door-to-door registration drives under AB-PMJAY & AB-PMJAY-SEHAT across the district.
