Director Rural Development Department Jammu, Mohammad Mumtaz Ali today toured the Panchayat Assar-Ganota in Assar and Malwas in Bhagwah Block in District Doda and took stock of different developmental activities there.
He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development Doda, Phulail Singh and other officers of the Department.The tour was conducted by Director as a part of Jan Abhyan which is a prelude to Back to Village phase-4.
During the tour, he reviewed the working of the Departments at Panchayat Level. He also took stock of the demands fulfilled in last three phases of back to village programs besides the progress on deliverables of Rural Development Department was also deliberated upon.
The deliverables which were reviewed include GPDP formulation, Compilation of information of B2V, saturation of Panchayat awards and establishment of Village Rural Haats.Progress of various services being delivered at Panchayat level to bring in more transparency in the department was also assessed.
The programmes were also attended by the Block level officers and other sectoral officers of various departments, Sarpanches, Panches and locals.Various works executed under back to village, MG-NREGA, Capex Budget, PMAY-G and Swachh Bharat mission were also inspected during the tour.
While addressing the gathering, the Director RDD asked the officers to vigorously hold gram sabhas so that comprehensive plans are prepared under GPDP.It is pertinent to mention here that the General Administration Department has already issued circular instructions to all departments for participation in the Gram Panchayat Development Plan.
