Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today called upon the people to judge SAD-BJP government themselves, only on the basis of its performance, rather than the hollow and baseless criticism by any other political party just to mislead the public. The Chief Minister was addressing the public during the second day of Sangat Darshan programme in the seven villages of Talwandi Sabo assembly constituency here today. He categorically mentioned that it was only their government that had initiated this unique programme to establish a personal contact with every inpidual at grass root level for resolving their pains and agonies.Mr. Badal further said that there was no political motive behind the Sangat Darshan programme, it was solely based on the principle that for the creation of a healthy society it was essential that all the three components of the society namely public, elected representatives and bureaucracy must sit together and work in unison.

The Chief Minister said that all the collective and demand based decisions taken during Sangat Darshan would be displayed on the boards in respective village to make everyone familiar with the concern of the government. Over few complaints received on the occasion, Mr. Badal directed the administration to immediately conduct a survey for allotting houses to poor and needy families, besides financial assistance for house repair to some of them. Claiming that the government had released the entire amount under Shagan Scheme for the beneficiaries, Mr. Badal assured that various electricity meter connections would be soon provided to all the applicants.

While interacting with the media person on the sidelines of this programme, Mr. Badal reiterated the commitment of the state government for re-establishing the farming sector on firm footing through effective implementation of allied activities for enhancing the profitability of the farming community in the state. He said that he had urged the Union Agriculture Minister to consider the allied agriculture sector at par with the farming sector to provide incentives on the lines of Agriculture, which would surely attract more and more farmers towards allied sector like Dairy farming, fish farming, piggery, goattery, beekeeping and others. The Chief Minister said that he had also strongly advocated with the Centre for the extension of the MSP regime and assured marketing to alternative crops like Maize in order to ensure that the goals of persification be achieved in the state.

Talking about the Blue revolution in the state, Badal said that the Union Agriculture Minister had agreed to setup the regional Centre of Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA) in Punjab, which would further boost Fish farming in a big way across the state especially in the water logged areas in Southern Punjab having brackish water.Referring to the efforts being taken for the overall development of the state, the Chief Minister said that he had already directed all the departments to prepare their comprehensive reports on various going projects along with bottlenecks so that he could be able to take up all these issues one by one with the Prime Minister and other concerned Union Ministers during his next regular visits to New Delhi. His recent maiden visit was very successful; every Union Minister he approached gave assurance him to give fulsome support and cooperation in the greater interest of the Punjabis, quoted Mr. Badal.

He further said that the state government under new changed scenario at the Centre, was also preparing a road map to further implement its pro-farmer and pro-poor policies in true letter and spirit. The persification in agriculture, power and industrial growth were major sectors where state would strive hard in order to tap the huge potential besides other sectors. The previous Congress led UPA Union government had always tried to incapacitate the Punjab government’s development plan and hindered the smooth functioning in the state, added Mr. Badal. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Former MLA Mr. Jeet Mohinder Singh, his Special Principal Secretary Mr. KJS Cheema, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Basant Garg, DIG Yorinder Singh and SSP Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar of Bathinda District.
