Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Sheetal Nanda today conducted an extensive tour of Udhampur district and took stock of ongoing special summary revision (SSR) 2022 in the District.The Commissioner Secretary, who is also Electoral Roll observer for District Udhampur participated in a special camp at polling Station Government Higher School Tikri.
At the camp, the Commissioner Secretary enquired about the pace of updation of electoral roll from the concerned Booth Level Officers and reviewed the progress of ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Electoral Rolls 2022 there.
The Commissioner Secretary exhorted upon the concerned to complete the revision of special summary including addition of new voters/left out voters and deletion of duplicate voters before the assigned due date.
The Commissioner Secretary directed the officers to activate men and machinery and complete the process of SSR 2022 within a given timeline. She laid emphasis on ensuring seeding of Adhaar numbers with all new eligible voters besides making the revised electoral rolls free form discrepancies.
Sheetal Nanda further emphasized on the officers and officials associated with the SSR to work with dedication and ensure that the whole exercise is completed within in a time bound manner with 100 percent enrolment of eligible voters.
The Commissioner Secretary also felicitated students who excelled in different fields at GHSS Tikri.The Commissioner Secretary also visited polling station at GHSS Garhi and attended special camps being organized as part of Special Summary Revision.
During the tour, the Commissioner Secretary also visited District Hospital Udhampur where she interacted with staff members and patients. She also distributed Baby kits among the beneficiaries.Later, Commissioner Secretary chaired a meeting of officers and supervisors at Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur and reviewed the progress of ongoing special summary revision 2022.
At the outset, District Election Officer, Udhampur, Krittika Jyotsna gave a detailed power point presentation about the ongoing special summary revision in the district Udhampur. She informed that the Special Summary Revision is going on in full swing in the district besides SVEEP activities are being organized to aware the masses about their right to franchise.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, Deputy District Election Officer, Gurdev Kumar, DPO besides All SDMs and Tehsildars were present.
