Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmad Jaral today imparted awareness to the students/ new voters of Government College for Women Udhampur about the Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls 2022.
He informed the staff members and students that Summary revision has commenced from 15th of September under the supervision of District Election Officer, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna, which shall culminate on 25th of October 2022 in the District Udhampur.
He added that those who have attained the age of 18 years on October 1, 2022 are eligible to get themselves registered as voters, by visiting on https://www.nvsp.in, besides they can also contact their BLOs for registration.
He reiterated that a series of awareness programmes are being held in the educational and other institutions across the district under SVEEP to mobilize the new voters, particularly students. A quiz competition was also held in the college complex in which college students participated.
The ACR motivated the students to take active part in Electoral literacy Clubs and thanked the college management for cooperation in organising the awareness programme in the college.Vice Principal, Professor Kewal Kumar, Prof Kamaldeep Kaur and Prof.Yash Paul were also present.
Dr Kamaldeep Kaur ably coordinated the programme. The event was attended by the NCC Cadets of 2 J&K NCC Girls Bn and other students of the college. Later, the ACR distributed certificates and prizes among the winners and the participants on the occasion.
