The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today held a meeting with revenue officers at the mini-secretariat, here to review the progress of anti-encroachment in the district.
The DC directed the Revenue Officers to pace up anti-encroachment drives and demolish illegally constructed structures and free state and kachcharai land presently under illegal occupation in the district.He set weekly targets for tehsildars for the purpose and directed officers to issue notices to all encroachers for voluntary removal of encroachments.
He also directed officers to recover demolition charges from violators in case they do not remove encroachments on their own post issuance of notices.DC directed for submission of progress reports of the total number of structures demolished and land freed on a weekly basis.
He also directed to publish the names of violators and take strict action against them.The meeting was attended by AssistantCommissioner Revenue, Shahbaz Ahmed Bodha; Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and other concerned officers.
