A day-long Drug De-addiction cum Career Counseling programme under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was today held at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS) Sumbal.The programme was organised by GBHSS Sumbal in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora and was presided over by Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sumbal, Dr. Bashir Lone.

Dr. Bashir on the occasion said that the proactive role of students against the drug menace can be a game changer and this is also the need of hour at this critical time when the menace of drugs has victimized the society.    

Speaking on the factors of drug addiction, SDM emphasised upon students that never be afraid to dream big. The most successful people in the world attained success only after massive and monumental failures in their initial careers, SDM added.

Highlighting the ill effects of drugs, the SDM emphasised upon complete eradication of harmful drugs from the society as it starts merely as amusement but at the end ruins innocent lives.SDM while interacting with the students in the Q/A session of the programme said vulnerable youth need all the help and counseling so that they do not fall prey.

Principal GBHSS, Mohammad Altaf said that the aim of organizing this seminar is to create awareness among common masses especially students of the sub division while sensitizing students with regard to the drug abuse.Besides students, teachers and administrative staff also participated in the programme.
