The First ever Golf Academy in Jammu was inaugurated earlier this year by Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha at Jammu Tawi Golf course, Sidhra with a vision to promote the game of Golf and make it more accessible for the youth.The management of Jammu Tawi Golf course has been conducting free camps for students in which about 20 students from Government Schools across Jammu, on a daily basis are learning the game of Golf. 

Golf Academy training format reserves a 20 days specialized training program for students aged between 8 to 18 years. The training focuses on learning of basic skills to play golf accompanied by the understanding of the rules and format of the game. The training is being imparted to the students by NGAI certified coach, Rohit Gupta.

As informed by Manav Gupta, Secretary, Jammu Tawi Golf Course, “The training programme is designed to ignite the golfing interest among the students. We have incorporated easier training methods to help children learn golf. 

We have introduced special aids to perfect their skills. 

Apart from Golfing lessons, children are taught basic discipline and Golfing Etiquette.”With this training programme, Jammu Tawi Golf Course, is determined to promote Golf among Children and to create the right environment which is conducive to fun, learning and friendship. This training programme helps children learn at their own pace of self discovery.
