An awareness camp on prevention of the spread of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) was today organized by Chief Animal Husbandry Office Shopian at Checki-Saidpora, here.The event was attended by the residents of the tribal villages and adjoining areas, along with the veterinary and para-veterinary staff of the Animal Husbandry department Shopian.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Altaf Hussain Masoodi, CAHO Shopian raised awareness about the various aspects of prevention, control, treatment and management of the viral infection which has affected the cattle population across the country.
On this occasion, a 5-minute short explanatory video regarding Lumpy Skin Disease was also showcased on a projector for the awareness of the people.The livestock farmers raised several queries regarding the disease and the queries were replied to by the experts of the department up to their utmost satisfaction.
