In order to set impetus in execution of developmental works across the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of contractors and MGNREGA workers.During the meeting, the DC highlighted the role of contractors and workers in development and urged all the contractors to scale up the pace of execution of works across the district.

He also listened to their issues and redressed some of the issues on spot.The DC urged the contractors to ensure completion of works taken by them within the stipulated time frame.He also informed these participants that district has a target of 39000 soak/ compost pits which need to be completed in Sept this year.

Earlier, ACD informed that the district stood at top in the Amrit Sarovar initiative of the government by developing and rejuvenating 233 Amrit Sarovars in the district. He appreciated the role of contractors and MGNREGA workers for timely execution of works allotted to them.ACD Mohammad Imran Khan, ACP Shurjeel Ali, CPO Kulgam, and other officers were also present on the occasion.Later, these workers and contractors were felicitated.
