The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray today flagged-off a bike rally from Sumo Stand, Ragipora Kupwara as part of month long activities under Nasha Mukht J&K Abhiyan .The SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas ; ARTO, DYS&SO, Functional Manager DIC, Dy.SP and other concerned officers were present at the occasion. 

Addressing the rally, the DC threw light on the importance of holding activities under the Nasha Mukht J&K Abhiyan. He said the rally has been jointly organised by District Administration, Police, ARTO, Transport and other departments with an aim to disseminate awareness among the youth about ill effects of drug abuse.

He appealed to the youngsters not to destroy their youth by involving themselves into drugs. He advised them to participate in sports activities of their choice and likeness besides in adventure activities including bike racing, cycling and other activities.He said a drug addicted person destroys approximately one lakh rupees on drugs in a year and added that he (drug addict) can easily get a special bike out of that expenditure, if he gets rid from this bad habit. 

The DC said that the administration shall act tough against the drug users and its trafficking, adding that every person is morally bound to support the administration to achieve the goal.Later,  the DC along with  SSP Kupwara participated in the bike rally from Kupwara to Handwara and invited the attention of the general public towards the slogans" SAY NO TO DRUGS", envisaged to generate awareness about ill effects of drugs on the society.
