Overwhelmed by the special occasion, elated students and Teachers across the educational institutions Jammu Division celebrated the Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and gusto, today.Students greeted their teachers and expressed gratitude for their dedication towards imparting knowledge to their pupils amid exchange of gifts and cards. Special functions were held wherein students and staff paid tributes to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his Birth anniversary, which coincides with Teachers’ Day.
AT DODA, Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and verve across Doda district. The main function was organised at Govt Higher Secondary School Boys.Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan was the chief and ADC, R K Bharti and ASP, Master Popsy were guests of honour.Prominent teachers including Shoket Hussain Mughal, retired lecturer, Mohammad Shafi Rishu, retired Principal, Hafizullah Khurwani retired lecturer, Abdul Hamid Sheikh, retired Master and Ramesh Kumar Councillor MC Doda were special invitees in the program.
Teachers and students from different educational institutions presented colourful cultural programmes to highlight the importance of teachers.In his address, the Chief Guest congratulated and appreciated the teachers for putting their tireless efforts to mould the character of the learners.
He asked the teaching fraternity to maintain the sanctity of the noble profession.Earlier, Chief Education Officer, Prahlad Bhagat, in his welcome address, paid tributes to Dr. S Radhakrishnan and congratulated the teaching fraternity on Teachers' Day.
Meanwhile, a scintillating programme was organised by the staff of Government Higher Secondary School Bhaderwah boys to mark the celebration of the Day.Cultural items, skits etc were presented by the students of the school. Students delivered speeches and thanked all the teachers for their valuable guidance.
Tehsildar Bhaderwah was the Chief Guest, while Renowned Educationists, Jaswant Singh Charak and Abdul Jabbar were the guest of honour.The programme was presided over by the School Principal and the stage was managed by Mujeeb ul Rehman and Vansh Kotwal.
The guests and the Principal shared their valuable thoughts with the students of the school.AT KATHUA, the National Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in schools, colleges and other educational institutions across the district.
A series of events, highlighting the significance of a Teacher and their contribution towards society, were organized in the institutions of the district.The day at the schools started with a special assembly and a tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the first Vice-President of India and the second President of India.
Dr. Radhakrishnan was also a scholar, teacher and renowned philosopher and Teachers' Day also marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.The teachers and students also delivered speeches on the life and teaching of Dr. Radhakrishnan.The students emulated their teachers in classes and participated in activities such as poster making, writing poems, and drawing inspired by their teachers and the life of Dr. Radhakrishnan.
AT RAJOURI, to mark the birth anniversary of the country's second President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence across the border district Rajouri.The main program was organized at Sports stadium Kheora where Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal was the chief guest. A number of speakers spoke during the event and highlighted the significance of the day.
Scintillating cultural items were presented by the artists and students at the event mesmerizing the audience. The students created an aura of love and appreciation as they sang songs and danced to entertain their teachers.Addressing the audience, the Deputy Commissioner extended his greetings to the entire teaching fraternity saying that the teachers are the real builders of the Nation and play a pivotal role in nurturing young minds.The Deputy Commissioner also launched the E-Compendium of the School Education department Rajouri.
AT RAMBAN, like other districts of UT of Jammu & Kashmir, a series of functions were organised to celebrate Teachers’ Day in the Government and private educational institutions of District Ramban.The students presented colourful cultural programms, conducted classes and emulated their teachers in a variety of ways.
The faculty of Government Degree College, Ramban organised an event to celebrate teachers’ day and pay tribute to India’s greatest educators, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a fervent advocate of education and the second President of India.

AT KISHTWAR, District Institute of Education & Training (DIET) Kishtwar celebrated Teachers’ Day to thank the teaching fraternity for their contribution in improving the lives of the students.A cultural extravaganza was organised to appreciate the unwavering commitment of the teachers for the mission and vision of this institution (DIET) with a difference.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma was the Chief Guest.The programme started with the singing of the National Anthem in Tamil language – as under Bhasha Sangam Jammu & Kashmir UT has been paired up with Tamil Nadu state to learn each other's culture and languages.
This was followed by the singing of the ecstatic prayer song by the teachers of the Hindi group in praise of God.Different cultural items were presented by the artists related to the celebration of Teachers’ Day.Meanwhile, the Department of Mission Vatsalya, in coordination with District Child Protection Unit Kishtwar, organized a function at Divine Light High School to mark the celebration of Teachers’ Day.
The students and teachers were educated about Nasha Mukt Bharat , Child Rights, use of 1098-helpline for the protection for children in distress, besides the role of District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committee and Juvenile Justice Board.
During the programme, Touseef Iqbal Butt (Protection Officer-Non Institutional Care) spoke at length on the issues related to crimes against children like child marriage, child sexual abuse, child labour and good and bad touch etc. He also explained the role of teachers in the life of students.
AT UDHAMPUR, a series of activities were organised as a part of celebration of Adhapak Diwas in memory of revered educationist and second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan in Government Degree College Udhampur under the patronage of the College Principal, Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta.
He felicitated the teaching faculty of the college and spoke on the National education -2020 as per the Vision and Mission of Department of Higher Education JKUT and Ministry of Education, Union Govt. of India. He applauded the efforts of all the teachers of the college for being instrumental in realizing this goal. He appreciated the team efforts of the faculty for their deliverance and whole-hearted endeavours.
Earlier, Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Coordinator AKAM Cell of the College, welcomed the Principal and the members of the faculty in the programme. A mesmerizing documentary on the life and contribution of Dr. S Radhakrishanan, was screened on the occasion.
The Student Welfare group YUVA SOCH YUVA BHARAT conveyed their regards to the teachers through a compiled video message, which was exhibited to all present.Besides this Prof. Rachna Bhrati, HOD Computer Science and Prof. Pardeep Singh, Faculty from Education deliberated upon the 3-Tier Feedback system of JKHED vis-à-vis Role of Teacher in NEP.
AT POONCH, Teachers’ Day, the birth Anniversary of Dr. Saravpalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of India and a great educationist, was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Poonch schools.
The main function was organized at Boys HSS Poonch, where Deputy Commissioner, Inder Jeet, was the chief guest, while Principal DIET Poonch, Dr. Madan Lal Sharma, was the guest of honor.The program was presided over by CEO Poonch, Bishamber Dass. As many as 32 teachers were felicitated on the occasion.
The program began with the National Anthem followed by lightening of the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest.Narinder Mohan Suri, DEPO Poonch read the welcome address and highlighted the activities of the education department in Poonch district.
Congratulating the Teachers, the Deputy Commissioner said, “Teachers are the best minds in the country who cannot be compared with anyone else and they should act as the role models for the students and should also help them to become good citizens.”
SKUAST JAMMU: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Jammu, celebrated Teachers’ Day with fervour and gaiety at Baba Jitto Auditorium, SKUAST-J Chatha.Prof. J.P. Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion.
The event commenced with lighting of the traditional lamp. Prof. J. P. Sharma recalled the immense contributions of the second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on whose birthday Teachers’ Day is being celebrated throughout the nation.
He reiterated that in today’s era, having knowledge is a key to success. Prof. Sharma endorsed that teachers are the ones who are true pillars of our success. They nourish and prepare students for their future and are the real icon of knowledge and wisdom. He explained the transformative role of a teacher in a student’s life.
All the statutory officers of the university, Heads of the Divisions, faculty, scientists and a large number of students participated in the programme.Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government PG College for Women, Gandhinagar celebrated Teachers’ day with great fervor and enthusiasm to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.
The Programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp and invoking the Goddess Saraswati- the deity of knowledge.Teachers - the real Nation Builders were honoured by the students in a unique fashion. The highlights of the event were Pick the Chit; Ramp walk; Musical Chair etc wherein all the faculty members actively participated and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
Prof. Minu Mahajan, the Principal of the College addressed the gathering and highlighted the role and importance of Teachers in shaping the lives and channelizing the energy of students. She further added that this event refreshed the nostalgic memories of student life.
The senior teachers whose retirement is due within months were felicitated with the beautiful mementos as a token of love and respect. The Teaching and Non-Teaching faculty members were also recognised for their services and felicitated with gifts.The programme concluded with the thumping Bhangra performance by the students.
