Directorate of School Education Jammu trains 386 teachers as master trainers

Directorate of School Education Jammu, in collaboration with Bharti Foundation, trained teaching staff from each school complex of Jammu Division on life skill development through house system.This offline training of nominated teachers was conducted in all 10 districts of Jammu Division in a phased manner w.e.f from 22 August to 30 August 2022. 

Training was imparted to the trainees by professional trainers from Bharti Foundation in a workshop mode so that the trainees learn experientially.The Resource person manuals have also been provided to trainees to equip them to train teachers of schools to adopt and integrate life skills approach in the day-to-day activities.

The DSEJ, with technical support from Bharti Foundation, has already developed and circulated the process along with guidelines to develop life skills through house systems following uniform processes. Each of the trained persons will develop the capacities of teaching staff from each complex school in the district on the house system process.

Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma said “The key focus of the programme is to capacitate human resources of all high and higher secondary Government schools including, heads of schools and teachers to develop a comprehensive understanding of the importance of life skills education and developing life skills through the existing school activities conducted through the four existing houses in the schools- wisdom, well-being, peace and eco.
