A case of demanding extortion of one crore from film producer Mohit Banwait has come to light. The blackmailer, claiming himself to be Goldy Brar, said that he is close to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The accused disclosed his house number to the vehicles of the producers’ on the phone and also threatened to kill him if he did not pay the extortion. The Sadar police station has registered a case and started an investigation.
Mohit Banwait, a resident of Palam village, said that a call came on his mobile. The caller said he was speaking to Goldy Brar, “If you want the safety of your life, then you have to give one crore.” After saying this, the blackmailer hung up the phone. Then a message came from a number on his WhatsApp. In it, his house number and vehicle numbers were written. Threats were sent to him through recordings.

The process of getting calls from people associated with the Punjabi film and music industry asking for extortion started in 2018. Earlier, Punjabi singer Parmish Verma was attacked in Sector-91. His life was saved with great difficulty. After this, when Gippy Grewal's Carry On Jatta was released, he got a call for extortion. After that, a case was registered against many people, including gangster Dilpreet Baba, in the Phase-Eight police station.
The investigation into the recent case of Producer Mohit Banwait has been started. Hope the team will find the accused and provide justice to the producer. Meanwhile, speaking of his work front, he has produced many films like Once Upon a Time in Amritsar, Parahuna, Ni Main Sass Kuttni, and many others to his credit. He has also directed the film Parahuna, which garnered immense love from the audience.
