National Senior Citizens Day observed in Kishtwar

National Senior Citizens Day was today observed across the district Kishtwar including all Tehsil headquarters with great enthusiasm and zeal.The main function was organised by the Social Welfare Department in collaboration with the District AYUSH Department & Elderline Helpline here at Dakbanglow.

District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), Zubair Ahmed Lone coordinated the event which started with Yoga session and was followed by free Medical Checkup for the Senior Citizens of far flung areas.The AYUSH Department distributed AYUSH medicines among the senior citizens. Several prominent persons, senior citizens and members of NGOs  also shared their experiences on the occasion.

Awareness about centrally Sponsored schemes, legal rights and protection for Senior Citizens were also imparted to the senior citizens on the occasion. Similar programmes were also organised at  Tehsil Chatroo and Tehsil Paddar under the supervision of concerned Tehsil Social Welfare officers and in collaboration with AYUSH Department Kishtwar.
