The 76th Independence Day was celebrated in Tehsil Pargwal with patriotic zeal and gaiety. The local administration hosted a function in the Government Higher Secondary School Pargwal and hoisted Tricolor and paid tributes to the frontline leaders and heroes of the freedom struggle.

The aura around the celebrations was filled with great enthusiasm and vigour, as not only the youth but, elders also participated with absolute aplomb.Nisha Kumari, Chairperson, Block Development Council Pargwal was the chief Guest who hoisted the National flag.

The programme started with flag hoisting followed by singing of national anthem and march past.Carrying national flags, the students and locals chanted slogans in praise of the country and to convey a message of unity and integrity of the nation.

However, due to inclement weather, the cultural programmes were restricted.The students who excelled in the academic results were also felicitated on the occasion. Keeping the National Flag high, all those present on the occasion joined in a chorus to sing the National Anthem. The area reverberated with repeated chants of "Bharat Mata ki Jai".

Among others, BDO Pargwal, Meenakshi Jasrotia, Principal GHSS. Indu Gandotra,  Vivek Chaturbedi 2IC 17 Sikh, Sansar Singh, NT Pargwal,  Vijay Kumar, NT Rajpura Pindi, Baljit Singh Parihar, incharge PP Pargwal also graced the occasion.
