District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today presided over Weekly Block Diwas proceedings at ward Plan of Kuntwara area and listened to the public grievances.DDC Counselor, Drabshalla-B Hans Raj; ACD Kishtwar Atul Dutt Sharma; BDO Drabshalla, Tariq Sayeed Suharwardy; Tehsildar Drabshalla, Irshad Ahmed; Xen PMGSY Division Kishtwar, Mohinder Kumar; I/C PP Drabshalla, field functionaries of different line Departments ,Sarpanchs, Panchs and a large number of people attended the outreach programme.
Scores of individuals and deputations, including PRI members projected demands and apprised the DDC Kishtwar about the problems faced by the inhabitants of the area.The people demanded the completion of Kuntwara-Ohli road in a time bound manner, opening of Ration Depot at Bhutna, Link road to Lilaran, employment of local youth in Rattle Hydroelectric Power Project on priority, inclusion of left out eligible beneficiaries under PMAY/AWAS Plus scheme, meeting dearth of staff in schools among others.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to the demands/grievances of the people and passed on the spot instructions to the concerned departments for time bound resolution of all the issues.The DDC also enjoined upon the officers of works department to take action against contractors who defaulted the terms and conditions of the contract.
Calling for promotion of horticulture, and Animal Sheep Husbandry sector in the area, the DDC urged the farmers/orchardists to avail the schemes of Agriculture and Horticulture and allied Departments to double their income.He also appealed to the locals to hoist the national flag on their rooftops from 13-15th August 2022 under Har Ghar Tiranga initiative.
En-route, the DDC Kishtwar also inspected the ongoing execution work of Rattle Hydroelectric Power project and directed the project authorities to stick to the time lines of these works so that the project is called completed in stipulated time.Meanwhile DDC Kishtwar also stressed the project authorities to adhere to the guidelines issued by govt to employ the locals and Project affected family members in the project.Similar Block Diwas programmes were held at various block headquarters of the district.
