As a part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, in collaboration with Government Degree College Chatroo, today conducted "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign and awareness on SVEEP & "Har Ghar Khada" here on the College Campus.
The event was held under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP) Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani BDO Inderwal, Tasleem Wani, College faculty, NT Election cell & SHO Chatroo besides students participated in the programme with zest and zeal.
Speaking on the occasion, the ACP said Har Ghar Tiranga has been rolled out to encourage people to hoist the national flag under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence.
He urged students and faculty members to make enthusiastic efforts to make this campaign a success. Awareness was also imparted on Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) and Har Ghar Khada campaign.
Principal GDC Chatroo, Professor Dr Ashiq Hussain, BDO Inderwal Tasleem Wani, NT Election cell Sajad Ahmed and Dr Jamsheed besides five students of the college delivered speeches on "Har Ghar Tiranga" programme and on importance of Vote and voter. Prizes were distributed among the participating students.
