To provide the best healthcare services free of cost to the people of the state at their doorsteps, Forest and Wildlife Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak said that 9 “Aam Aadmi Clinics” would be ready by August 4 in Ludhiana.The buildings of these clinics will be handed over to the health department on August 4 by the PWD department following the completion of civil works. 

The appointment of doctors, pharmacists and two other assistants is also in the final stage besides furniture and other requisite materials will also be purchased in the coming days.In Ludhiana, these clinics are coming up at Sufian Chowk adjoining Kidwai Nagar, MC Office Metro road, MC office near Chand cinema, Adjoining BSUP Flat Dhandari Kalan, GK Enclave Kehar Singh Colony (Khanna), Municipal Committee, Bus Stand (Raikot), Transport Nagar, PSPCL Office Building Focal Point and Old Hospital Raikot road, Jagraon.

Accompanied by MLAs Sarvjit Kaur Manuke, Daljit Singh Grewal, Madan Lal Bagga, Ashok Parashar Pappi, Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina, Hardeep Singh Mundian, Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Jagtar Singh Dyalpura, Manwinder Singh Giaspura, Jeewan Singh Sangowal, Manpreet Singh Ayali, Zila Parishad chairman Yadwinder Singh Jandiali, Cabinet Minister Kataruchak who also holds portfolio of Food, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs, said that Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann would dedicate these nine Aam Aadmi Clinics to the people on August 15 in the district. 

He expressed satisfaction over ongoing work and asked the officials to ensure timely completion of other formalities.Meanwhile, in order to enhance green cover in the district, he said that seven lakh saplings are being planted this monsoon in Ludhiana under Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Hariyawal Lehar.

Reviewing the status of development works, the Cabinet Minister said that seven lakh saplings and 1610 “triveni’s” would be planted in the district out of which 1.60 lakh saplings and 16 trivenis had already been planted by the forest department.He said that the Punjab Government led by CM Bhagwant Mann was committed to preserve the environment and Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Hariyawal Lehar aimed to enhance the forest area in the district. Soliciting fulsome support of all MLAs and officials, he asked them to ensure proper upkeep of these seven lakh saplings otherwise humanity will face serious consequences without trees.Lal Chand Kataruchak who is also in-charge of Ludhiana district also reviewed implementation of Buddha Dariya Rejuvenation Project, Smart City Works, Health and Education schemes, Food Supply and others welfare programs.

On this occasion, he also asked MLA Daljeet Singh Grewal and other MLAs deputed to oversee Budha Dariya issue by Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha, to hold a meeting and review progress of this project and submit details so that all loopholes, if any, can be taken care of on time.Upon his arrival in the district for the first time, he was also accorded guard of honour by Police Commissionerate Ludhiana.

Prominent among present on the occasion included Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik, MC Commissioner Dr Shena Agarwal, Joint CP Dr Narinder Bhargav, LAC LIT Neeru Katyal Gupta, ADCs Amit Kumar Panchal, Amarjeet Bains, Anita Darshi, AAP senior leaders Dr KNS Kang,  District Presidents Suresh Goyal and Harbhupinder Singh Dharour, Amandeep Singh Mohi and heads of different department were present.
