District Administration Doda on Wednesday organised five Block Diwas meetings at Panchayat Dhossa, Gandoh, UPS Mahri, Tehsil Thathri, Panchayat Bulandpur, Assar, Panchayat Ghar Kari, Bhalla, Bhaderwah and Panchayat Ghar Malwana East.

ADC Bhaderwah Ch. Dil Mir presided over the Block Diwas programme at Panchayat Ghar Kari, Bhalla, Bhaderwah, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti chaired the proceedings at Panchayat Ghar Malwana East.

SDM Assar, Lekh Raj and SDM Gandoh, Arun Khumar Badhyal led the program at Panchayat Bulandpur Assar and Panchayat Dhossa Gandoh respectively. Other district and sectoral officers also remained present at their designated places during the Block Diwas proceedings.

ADC Bhaderwah, while speaking at the program, highlighted the achievements and schemes of the UT government and asked the public to get optimum benefit from the government’s individual benefit schemes.

The ADC Doda informed the people that almost all the schemes and facilities of government departments can be reached online, bringing administration really at the door steps of the public. “The start of online services has brought transparency, accountability and time bound services delivery mechanism in the administration” he said. 

He urged upon the public to get their services through online mode to save time and money.ADCs, SDMs and other officers interacted with PRIs and the public. A number of demands/ grievances were put forth by the PRIs and general public during the day.

 The major demands included augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.

The Presiding officers of the Block Diwas gave patient hearing to the issues and demands and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve the same at an earliest.

As many as 130 grievances/ applications were received at all locations out of which 122 were disposed of on the spot. Besides, 25 Domicile certificates, 11 Category certificates, 26 birth/ death certificates were issued to the eligible beneficiaries. Also 14 revenue extracts/ papers were issued to the applicants. 1090 works under MGNREGA, District Capex, 14th FC and other schemes were started today.
