Principal Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, Ashok Kumar Parmar held a meeting with contractors of Jal Shakti, and allied departments to discuss their various issues in his office chamber today.

The Principal Secretary gave a patient hearing to the delegation of contractors from Jammu division who submitted their grievances especially with respect to the pending payments of languishing projects on account of more than 15% tender appreciation and also with respect to closed schemes under different heads besides other liabilities on account of other tendered works from the past years.

Ashok Kumar Parmar urged the contractors to have faith in the Govt. system and informed them that a comprehensive list of all such liabilities is being sought by him from the Chief Engineers containing a detailed list of such projects, their balance components, reasons for their discontinuation and their present status so that the same is analysed and recommended to the competent authority for appropriate action.

The contractors expressed their happiness over the assurance given by the Principal Secretary and submitted that they have tried to give full cooperation to the department and completed many works during the Covid pandemic as well.

The Principal Secretary thanked the contractors for their professionalism and assured them that all their issues would be looked into and resolved on merit basis.The meeting was also attended by Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti Department (PHE) Jammu, Er. Manesh Bhat.
