Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora today honoured with “Son of Ludhiana” award by prominent intellectuals of the city at a function held here. The award was presented to the Rajya Sabha MP by eminent Economist & former Chancellor Padma Bhushan Dr S S Johl, Noted Poet and Padma Shri Dr Surjit Patar, Eminent Poet Prof Gurbhajan Gill , Sikh Scholar Prof Anurag Singh, International Author & Nature Artist Harpreet Sandhu and Chief Principal Secretary, IT , Govt of India Praneet Sachdev and several others.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr SS Johl and Dr Surjit Patar said that it is a matter of great pride that Sanjeev Arora, who comes from one of the leading business families of Ludhiana have been elected as a Rajya Sabha MP.
Prof Gurbhajan Gill said that MP Arora’s father Pran Nath Arora contributed to the state economy by setting up one of the first agro processing units of vegetable oil in the state in early 1970s and later first private milk processing company of Ludhiana. He said that people of Punjab have high hopes from Sanjeev Arora.
The Rajya Sabha MPs close friend Harpreet Sandhu said that Sanjeev Arora’s election to Rajya Sabha has brought cheer amongst the business families of the state. He said that he has high hopes from Sanjeev Arora as a member of parliament for Rajya Sabha.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Joint CP Narinder Bhargav, Tarlochan Singh Sandhu, besides several others.
