Post-Matric Scholarship: Students can apply on portal till July 31 - ADC Major Amit Sareen

Under Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme, the eligible students can apply for scholarship on Dr Ambedkar Scholarship portal (www.scholarships.punjab.gov.in) till July 31 to avail the benefit.

While reviewing status of the scheme, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Major Amit Sareen also directed the managements of educational institutes of the district not to harass any beneficiary of scheme in case of delay or pending dues. 

Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Portal opened on June 8 by the state government to facilitate the Scheduled Castes (SC) students to apply for the financial assistance under the scheme till July 31, 2022.

The ADC also mentioned that educational institutes could forward complete cases of scholarships after corrections to approving authority till July 31, which would further send to line departments for online proposals by the approving authority by August 15. 

Following, the line departments will send online proposals to welfare department till August 30, 2022.Sareen said that the objective of the scheme was to provide monetary aid to the reserved category students to enable them for completing their graduation and masters.

He appealed to the students from SC community to avail the benefit of the post-matric scholarship scheme. He said that the state government was committed for the well being of students from the underprivileged and weaker sections of the society.

Meanwhile, he asked the college managements to not to harass any students over Post-matric Scholarship Scheme. He said that debarring any student from taking an examination or withholding his degree or roll number on account of the scheme would not be tolerated at any cost.

Prominent among present on the occasion included SDM Balbir Raj Singh, District Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Officer Rajinder Singh and others.
