An awareness programme on workers rights under various laws was held on Monday at town Hall, here.The programme was organised by  collaboration of various departments including,  Department of Labour,  ICPS and District Legal Services Authority Bandipora in Coordination with Tehsil Legal Services Committee Bandipora.

The programme  aimed to provide Awareness regarding various  labour laws and Government Sponsored Schemes, and was conducted under the guidance of chairmanship of Javaid Ahmad Geelani, Pr. District and Sessions Judge Bandipora and  Supervision of  Fariqa Nazir Secretary/ Sub-Judge DLSA Bandipora.

The programme was inaugurated by Assistant Labour Commissioner Bandipora Mohammad Arif  along with Ghulam Mohammad Mir Chairperson CWC, ICPS Bandipora and other Officers.On the occasion,  Assistant Labour Commissioner Bandipora M Arif briefed about various privileges and welfare schemes for labourers available under the labour laws for workers registered with JKBOCW and advised them to utilise the benefits.

Speaking On the occasion, resource persons of DLSA  threw light on various government schemes. They said Government Schemes in India are launched by the government to address the social and economic welfare of the labour force.

Speaking on the occasion Protection Officer  ICPS Bandipora, Gowhar Mehmood threw light on various schemes of  ICPS. He urged the participants to aware others also regarding various schemes of the Government for the benefit of deserved at grassroots level.

The programme was attended by Officers/ Officials of Labour Department,  ICPS, PLVs, Officials of DLSA Bandipora, Representatives from ICDS, Health, NHPC, Transporters, representatives of AAA Foundation besides a large number of migrant and  local laborers and Traders also attended the programme.

Another programme at Sumbal was conducted by Tehsil Legal Committee Sumbal in collaboration with Govt. Hr. Sec. School Nowgam Sumbal regarding International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Nowgam Sumbal which was  attended by students, Teachers and other Participants.
