In order to provide dedicated Aadhaar facilities to the people a One Stop destination for Aadhaar services, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has set up exclusive Aadhaar Seva Kendra(ASK) at Ground Floor, NB House, Commercial Complex, Exchange Road, Lal Chowk, Srinagar.

The facility which commenced operations at Srinagar today was inaugurated by Deputy Director General (UIDAI), Regional Office Chandigarh, Ms Bhawna, Garg in the presence of Secretary Government Information Technology Department Ms Prerna Puri and Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad.

After inaugurating the Aadhaar Seva Kendra, DDG, UIDAI informed that ASK will offer dedicated Aadhaar enrolment and update services viz demographic and biometric including the download and Print Aadhaar services to residents in a State-of-the-Art environment. 

She also informed that on-line appointment is also available for availing services for all seven days in a week from 9:30 AM to 5.30 PM (barring public holidays).She said that the ASK has the capacity to serve 500 persons in a day. 

She also informed that new Aadhaar enrolment and Mandatory Bio-Metric (MBU) for children attaining the age of 5 and 15 years is free of cost. However, the people need to pay nominal charge of Rs 50/- for updating details like mobile number, address etc. and Rs 100/-  for Bio-Metric Updates including Photograph.

Secretary Information Technology also expressed her views and said that the people of Srinagar and adjoining areas shall avail Aadhaar services in a hassle-free and convenient manner. She added that a similar ASK facility has also been made operational in Jammu.

The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar also spoke on the occasion, said that this Centre will make Aadhaar related services for residents easy. He hoped that, now people can update their Aadhaar and also get enrolled for Aadhaar Card at the centre. 

He urged the uncovered population of the Srinagar to avail the facility to get Aadhaar Cards which is a prerequisite document for availing benefits of different Government sponsored welfare and social security schemes.He said having an Aadhaar card in the pocket guarantees the entitlements and enjoyment of the benefits of various centrally sponsored schemes.
