The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora Dr. Owais Ahmed on Thursday visited Yatra Transit Camp at Shadipora Sumbal to oversee the pace of the works undertaken to augment the accommodation and other facilities for pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2022.

Dr. Owais on the occasion inspected the progress of facilities being upgraded for the convenience of the stay of yatries during the SANJY-2022.The DC was apprised by the officers of the concerned departments that work on majority of necessary facilities have been completed and  works on other facilities are going on in full swing to augment the stay capacity and other facilities for the Yatries.

The DC directed the concerned departments to make all necessary arrangements including facilities of drinking water and electricity etc at Yatra transit Camp well in advance besides deployment of sufficient staff at the camp.

He also inspected ongoing works at the transit camp and directed the concerned departments and executing agencies to expedite the work in order to complete provision of all necessary facilities before the commencement of Yatra.

The DC stressed upon the concerned to prioritize provisions of   cleanliness, sanitation, hygiene, and medical facilities at transit camp.Joint Director planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, SDM Sumbal Dr Bashir Ahmad Lone, Tehsildar Sumbal, Executive Engineers and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
