Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam and Director Rural Development Department, Jammu, Mohammad Mumtaz Ali on Wednesday listened to the issues and grievances of general public especially pertaining to RDD at the Weekly Block Diwas meeting  held at Khari area of Sub-division Banihal.DDC Councilors, Fayaz Ahmed Naik and Gulshan Parveen ; BDC Chairperson, Sajad Hussain; ACD, Zameer Rishu, CEO, CMO, BMO, BDO and other officers attended the Block Diwas meeting.

Responding to the issues highlighted by the PRIs and general public including release of pending payments, 14FC funds, tendering process and timely completion of all sanctioned projects under Area Development Funds, Forest Clearance cases and other schemes, the Director RDD informed the people about steps already taken by the department to resolve the issues to achieve the target of desired development.The Director also took feedback from PRIs and officers about implementation of different plans and schemes especially PMAY-G. He also reviewed the status of sanitation plans.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the PRIs to approve projects to construct durable assets under ADF and other schemes to strengthen basic infrastructure in the rural areas.Regarding the renewal of contractors’ cards, the Deputy Commissioner assured the PRIs that the matter would be taken up with the concerned authorities for speedy redressal. Responding to the demands regarding execution of different link road projects, the DC directed the officers to upload their applications on PARVISH portal as per guidelines for taking forest clearance timely.People also highlighted the issue of shortage of staff in schools and health institutions, sanction of ambulances and construction of Community or Banquet Hall in the area.The DC also sensitized the participants about various beneficiary oriented and other welfare schemes besides assuring them their genuine demand will   be fulfilled in phase manner.
