The district administration Kathua organised a mega Block Diwas  programme  here at Govt. Model Higher Secondary School, Basohli, where DDC Chairperson Mahan Singh and Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey listened to the grievances of the people.The programme witnessed overwhelming response of the public from all walks of life, who highlighted their issues seeking provision of Basic Amenities like water, power, road connectivity, shortage of staff in Schools and Health centres. DDC Chairperson Mahan Singh, in his address, laid emphasis on equal role of PRIs, Administration and common people to get tangible results on the development front. He said under Jal Jeevan Mission the drinking water supply scenario will get a huge fillip for which adequate funding has been provisioned in this year's CAPEX budget.

After listening to the issues of the locals, the DC redressed many grievances on the spot and issued a slew of directions to the concerned officers for early redressal of the remaining issues. He assured the public that all their genuine grievances shall be redressed in a time bound manner.The concerned officers also addressed the public and assured early redress of issues.The Deputy Commissioner directed the ZEO to   ascertain the status of teaching staff attached with the administration and also work out modalities for rationalisation so as to ensure the availability of staff in schools as per the need.People of the area thanked the Deputy Commissioner for organizing the public grievances redressal camp.
