People’s Democratic Front Chairman Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen Thursday said that Coalition government did not do any favour to employees by enhancing their retirement age. He said that it was the right of the employees and decision in this regard should have been taken in 2009 when everybody in all-parties meeting at Jammu  impressed upon Omar Abdullah to made an announcement and stop employees coming on roads.

“In fact defeat in the election has brought the government into the pro-active mode. Some of these decisions including the revocation of recruitment policy would have made a remarkable difference if made a year or two earlier. General people have feeling that that these decisions are taken keeping the coming Assembly elections in mind,” Yaseen told CNS adding that government should now implement these decisions in letter and spirit without wasting any time.

He said that several decisions were taken by the Coalition government in past which were not implemented at all. “Government must issue notifications with regard to decisions it has taken from past one month. It should also think about the financial implications of these decisions,” he said.Legislator Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen appealed government to make the jobs of newly recruited youth pensionable. “It was good that government revoked recruitment policy but still it has a lacuna as it does not provide pension to new recruits. Government should do justice towards educated youth and should make their jobs pensionable,” he said.
