The Department of Horticulture Doda today organised an awareness programme at Tehsil headquarter Gundana to impart technical guidance to the farmers. Chief Horticulture officer,  Rakesh Kotwal was the chief Guest. The programme was also attended by Manager Cum Chemist Bhaderwah, Bharat Bhushan Pangotra and Horticulture Development Officer , Mohinder Singh.Addressing the gathering of more than 50 farmers, the Chief Horticulture officer emphasized and exhorted upon the orchardists to switch to scientific Management of their Orchards by adopting the advisory of the Department along with a spray schedule to get optimum output of their workout.The Manager cum Chemist, in his address, asked the orchardists to follow the recommended processing and post harvest Management of their produce. He also asked them to adopt organic farming in view of the increasing demand of organic produce in the market. Meanwhile the team of officers also visited Apple and Walnut Orchards of  Abdul Kabir Shan, Abdul Aziz Bhat and Abdul Rehman Mir and gave on the spot guidance and technical guidance for the proper management of their orchards.The HDO Gundana presented the vote of thanks to the participants. The Sarpanches and panches of the Panchayat Gundana and Ludna appreciated the Department for organising highly informative programme in the far-flung area of the District.
