Amit Talwar, Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar today reviewed the construction work of the hospital being constructed by upgrading from PHC to CHC at 3B2 area of Mohali. He directed the contractors that this construction work should be completed quickly now so that quality health services could be provided to the people of the area through this CHC. Contractor apprised that due to restriction on working hours due to Court orders the work can be done in day time but he would complete all the work in two months’ time now.Mr. Talwar instructed the contractors that while the construction work should continue on a war footing level but a proper partition should be erected between the block completed and other block where the work is going on.
The area under construction should be separated from the existing PHC so that no inconvenience is caused to the patients coming here for treatment. Dr. Adarshpal Kaur, Civil Surgeon, who was present on the occasion informed that nearly 100 patients come to PHC for outdoor treatment. She was also asked by the Deputy Commissioner to ensure proper sitting arrangement for the doctors. He also directed the Civil Surgeon to ensure that all possible arrangements are made for the convenience of the patients at the site. He instructed the Civil Surgeon that a detailed requisition note should be prepared and sent to State headquarter in the health department, indicating the requirement of extra doctors, other staff & infrastructure needed to run the PHC so that the same is sanctioned by the time building is complete.
SE, PHSC Sh Ravinder Singh along with contractor remained present. They were instructed to make the genset operational in a day so that PHC remains operational during the power cuts. It was also instructed to apply for enhancement of load in electricity connection immediately and decide for widening of entry gate for ambulance landing at the Porch of new facility.Later the Deputy Commissioner visited Civil Hospital where he reviewed the working of the PSA oxygen plant. The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Civil Surgeon Mrs. Adarshpal Kaur, Principal Medical College, Dr. Bhavneet Bharti and SMO Mr. Vijay Bhagat.
