A communal clash has broken out in Patiala, Punjab between members of the Shiv Sena led by Harish Singla and pro-Khalistan sword-bearing sympathisers outside the Kali Mata temple. They were reportedly seen pelting stones at each other and brandishing swords, police said. The after-effects of the clash have been very horrific as an 11-hour curfew had been imposed in Patiala from 7 pm on 29 April 2022 after the police fired several rounds in the air to avert the clash. Moreover, rumours have been spreading that the atmosphere of Punjab has been detroitered due to this clash.

Amid the conflict, many politicians and artists took to their social media and expressed their concerns towards the common people. And what grabbed our attention is when Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi wrote Janta Sb Janti Hai. he wrote in Punjabi that “The atmosphere in Punjab is normal but some people are raising old dead issues and trying to ruin it for their own benefit. In fact, these people are hired who just do it for money or security, but the rest of the public should not be involved.”

Meanwhile, Patiala Deputy Commissioner Mrs Sakshi Sawhney quoted, "Peace and calm should be maintained. The situation is under control. Mobile internet services are temporarily suspended today to stop rumour-mongering. FIRs were filed in three instances. On the basis of evidence gathered from video footage action will be taken," she added.
