The Rayat Bahra University in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh and the Red Ribbon Club organised a blood donation camp here today. A total of 107 volunteers donated blood at the camp which was inaugurated by Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University.Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the university, lauded the efforts of the organisers of the camp. He said blood donation was a noble cause as it helped save precious human lives.
Bahra said the university was committed to working for the cause of social welfare and the camp was an endeavour in this direction. Team of expert doctors from sector 32 hospital collected the blood units. Dr. Neena Mehta Dean Academic, Dr Simerjit (DSW) along with the other faculty members were present. A team from “ROTTO’ PGI created awareness for organ donation among the volunteers and 15 volunteers took a pledge for organ donation.Refreshments were served to the donors at the camp and they were also given certificates.
