Former Member-Parliament & Ex-State President (BJP) J&K Shamsher Singh Manhas kick started the construction work of Lane & Drain at Mohalla Bhagtian in Municipal Corporation Ward no.59 along with Corporator Ashok Singh Manhas. Former Member-Parliament while addressing the people said that the estimated cost of the work is 13.50 lacs approximately covering a length of about 100 metre. Manhas said that the Jammu Municipal Corporation is doing a tremendous job with great zeal and distributing the funds with uniformity across all the  Municipal Wards. Manhas asserted that the people should be vigilante and should check the quality of the work and if any discrepancies take place while executing the work; they should report immediately.

He said that the focused attention is accorded by the government to improve the road network and the government is committed to provide durable assets to the people of the state adding that various developmental projects are in the pipeline.Later, Manhas interacted with the locals and listened to their problems. The problems which were projected by the locals included, up-gradation of roads, improving drinking water, electricity ,health services, sanctioning old age pensions etc. He assured them that their genuine demands will be considered.Several political activists including Joginder Chib, Vineet Manhas, Satish Kumar, Ashok Singh Chib & Sonu were also present on the occasion.
