Former Chief Minister and Punjab Lok Congress President Capt Amarinder Singh today lashed out at the Congress government for stopping all the development works in Patiala which had been started by him.Addressing a largely attended public rally here this evening, Capt Amarinder said, during the last four and a half years of his tenure as the Chief Minister he had allocated development projects worth  Rs 1800 crore for Patiala. However, he regretted, the day Charanjit Singh Channi took over as the Chief Minister these projects were stopped.He said, there was a long pending demand of the people of Patiala to shift dairies out of the city as the waste from these choked the drains. The project was scrapped by Channi the same evening he took over. He said the governments should not resort to such vindictiveness.Capt Amarinder assured the people here that the NDA government comprising of the BJP, the PLC and the SAD-Sanyukt was set to form the government in the state. 

He said, all the development projects that had been stalled will be resumed again.He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Home Minister Amit Shah for the support and cooperation they have extended to him. He said, once the alliance government takes over in Punjab there will be all round development.He regretted that the state government did not let the Prime Minister to reach the rally in Ferozepur where the Prime Minister was supposed to announce projects worth Rs 43,000 crores.The former Chief Minister thanked people of Patiala for the love and respect they have always given him. "I feel proud and privileged about the love and affection I get from all the people here making it one complete family", he said amidst cheers and applause.  Thousands of people had gathered here despite a cold evening. They were carrying flags sporting the party symbol, hockey and also the lotus symbol of the BJP.Prominent among those present included Mayor Sanjeev Bittu Sharma, BJP district president Harinder Kohli, PLC district president NK Malhotra, KK Sharma and others.
