Located around 50 kilometers away from Srinagar, Drung or Drang, is a recently discovered, beautiful tourist spot. It's a small village in the Tangmarg tehsil of Gulmarg, Baramulla. Surrounded by dense pine forests, breath-taking vistas of meadows and the gushing brooks, Drung lies on way to the charming Gulmarg, just 3 kms from Tangmarg.
The 3 km road from Tangmarg to Drung is still under construction and the road is yet to be fully-macadamized. Drung, unlike other tourist places, is ideal for a one-day trips or even a family picnic. The Gulmarg Development Authority has initiated to work for the development of Drung so as to make it a resting spot for tourists who want to spend days discovering this place. The gushing brooks of Firozpur Nallah make it a suitable place for trout fishing and rock climbing.

•The Frozen Waterfall:
In winters when everything is covered by blanket of snow, Drung is the place to be seen in it's mesmerizing form. The extremely low temperature freezes the waterfall and Nallah that surrounds it making it much more beautiful in the winters. Thus, the towering waterfall, which then merges with the water streams flowing from the glaciers, is the main attraction toa huge number of tourists.
•The relics of an Ancient Hindu Temple:
Drung's ancient Hindu Temple is located a mile away from the Drung Waterfall on the banks of Firozpur River.
The history tells us that the temple is believed to be built by Pandavas of Mahabharata fame.
The monument is protected and declared as ‘State Protected Monument’ as per the ‘Ancient Monument Preservation Act Samvat 1977’ in the year 1983 and since then the site is maintained by the SDA, state department of archaeology.

Drung doesn't have an airport or a railway station. The nearest airport is Srinagar International Airport, located around 48 kms from Drung. Taking about is 1 hr 32 min, travellers can either use bus or taxi from Srinagar to reach Drung. Tourists can also hire guides and horses after they reach Tangmarg and trek from there to Drung to explore whole of the vicinity.
