MLA Surinder Dawar distributes cheques to prove ‘Har Ghar Pakki Chhat’

Continuing his ‘Har Ghar Pakki Chhat’ campaign to provide a pukka roof roof for all households in Ludhiana Central the MLA of the constituency, Surinder Dawar, distributed cheques worth Rs.12,000 at several places in the constituency today.He distributed about 1000 cheques at various places in the constituency including ward number 61, ward number 8, ward number 20, ward  number 59 in addition to other wards.Several women from these wards who had come to receive these cheques, expressed gratitude and relief at receiving the grant. “We have been suffering, but nobody was there to hold our hand. Dawar Sahib is the only one who has come to our aid,” a woman from ward number 59 said.

Mr Dawar said that when he got to know that many families in Ludhiana Central had been suffering because of lack of repair for the leaking roofs for decades he made sure that he got enough funds from the Congress government in Punjab to repair to cover the cost of repair for hundreds of households. He said that he got five crore rupees grant for his constituency for this purpose, that is helping hundreds of families can get their houses repaired and get a relief from extremities of weather and leaking roofs during rains. “I am working day and night, trying everything possible to transform the lives of people living in Ludhiana Central. Be it making and repairing roads and streets, new and renewed tubewell connections, improved education facilities including new state of the art school, covering of open Buddha Nullah stretches, I have been at work throughout my five year term as your representative," Mr Dawar said.
