Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to discuss the action plan for undertaking Covid-19 Vaccination for 15-18 Yr age group in the district.Pertinently, the Government of India has recently approved the vaccination for the children in the age group of 15-18 years to be started from January 3, 2022 across the country.The Deputy Commissioner called upon the Principals of Degree Colleges, Schools and other Educational Institutions to identify the number of children falling under the 15-18 year age bracket so as to ensure their vaccination by laying out a schedule.He called upon the ADCs and SDMs to ensure all the eligible children including drop outs to get enrolled and get vaccinated within seven days of this special drive launched by the government with the aim to cover vulnerable age group of children.

The DC called for roping in Asha and Anganwadi workers to complete this exercise in coordinated manner.PO ICDS was directed to make a list of drop out children and share it with medical teams who have to make vaccination plans for their areas well in advance.The DC impressed upon the Health, Education, ICDS department to gear up men and machinery and work with synergy to vaccinate the target group in addition to the ongoing inoculation drive for other age appropriate categories. He also directed BMOs to speed up the vaccination drive to achieve the 100% target in other categories at the earliest.ADDC, ADC’s, Dy. CMO, SDMs, Principals of Degree Colleges and other concerned officers were also present.
