“Congress's tenure in Chandigarh MC would always be remembered for a series of scams and scandals ranging from rail, booth and clothes theft. Congress is in Quarantine for the last six years and is trying to recover from same in this election but public is preparing to send them to Quarantine again”. said BJP senior leader Sanjay Tandon while countering the charge-sheet filed against BJP during a press conference held at Kamalam, BJP Party Office on Friday.Tandon said that the Congress has not only indulged in scams during their 14-year long tenure while the BJP has given impetus to development in the city. Referring to a survey, Tandon said that Chandigarh is much better than other cities. Chandigarh's developmental graph has been appreciated nationally as the city is recognized in the Happiness Survey Index being topped in the chart earlier this year.

He said that when the whole country was facing the problem of oxygen, not only was Chandigarh self-sufficient in this area, but the needs of neighbouring states were also fulfilled by Chandigarh.Tandon, while taking BJP's side on the issue of pollution, said that an oxygen purifier has been installed at the transport chowk to keep the city's air clean and all this has happened during the BJP's tenure. Greenery in the city has increased from 38 to 46 percent. Along with this, cycle tracks have been built along the roads for the convenience of cyclists. He said Chandigarh does not need the Delhi model but Delhi needs the Chandigarh model. He affirmed that adjoining villages would be connected and developed as a model village by eliminating Lal Dora in Chandigarh.Tandon said that the UT Employees Homes Scheme came in 2008, but in 2012, the Congress regime closed this scheme followed by BJP revival in 2014 and  2016.
