Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Khurshid Khan today called on the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and emphasized the need to strengthen the age old ties between India and Pakistan. Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that both the countries shared linguistic, cultural and social ties but unfortunately the political barriers had drawn lines between the people due to religious fanaticism and secessionism. However they mutually agreed upon to promote peace, communal harmony and friendship between the two countries to script a new chapter of mutual trust and goodwill in the Sub-Continent. The Chief Minister said “None of any religion in the world preaches the cult of violence and hatred and therefore it was the need of the hour to come forward for the promotion of love, peace, brotherhood and co-operation in the region.  

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also enquired about the condition of historic Gurdwaras in Pakistan from Mr. Khan. The Deputy Attorney General from Pakistan apprised Mr Badal that the condition of Gurdwaras was perfect as all out efforts were made by the Pakistan Government for their upkeep and maintenance. Mr. Khan also lauded the role being played by the Sikhs in the economy of Pakistan in general and that of North Western Frontier Province in particular. He also invited Mr. Badal to Pakistan for visiting the holy Sikh shrines in the country.

Lauding the enormous contribution of SAD-BJP government in the overall development and prosperity of Punjab, Mr. Khan said that it was visible from the excellent road infra structure,9 resulting in smooth and congestion free movement of vehicular traffic across the state. Mr Khan recalled Chief Minister’s stupendous efforts to uphold the values of democracy, unity and integrity of the country at one hand and promoting the ethos of peace, communal harmony and amity during his entire glorious political career.
