Cabinet Minister Rana Gurjit singh today ordered the inquiry regarding the quality control check into the link roads made by the Punjab mandi board. He has asked the Deputy commissioner kapurthala Deepti Uppal to form a inquiry committee and submit the report in next 7 days.Today in a review meeting of development works here at PTU with Deputy commissioner kapurthala Deepti Uppal, all ADCs and heads of all departments, the Minister said that the Punjab Government will not tolerate any kind of corruption in development works besides ensuring quality of work.He said that after getting multiple complaints in the quality of road building by the mandi board in kapurthala, he has sought inquiry . The Minister categorically said that " the misuse of taxpayers money would not be allowed at any cost ".The Minister also asked the PSPCL officials to speed up the upgradation of electricity transformers to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.

Taking serious note in the delay of development works in Guru Nanak stadium , the Minister asked the competent authority to blacklist the contractor.He also reviewed the progress on water conservation project in 23 villages of kapurthala assembly constituency, under which the special grant of Rs. 8 crore realesed by the Punjab Government. Under this the ponds of villages to be upgraded with Thapar model, further the pond water to be used for irrigation.Terming the Kanjli wetland as a life line of kapurthala district, the Minister also asked the Deputy commissioner to conduct third party audit into the utilisation of the funds of Rs 4.5 crore.He also asked the registrar PTU Mr Jaspreet Singh to prepare a comprehensive project for permanent solution of water hyacinth with the installation of floating belts.The Minister asked the Deputy commissioner, ADCs to personally monitor the development projects and implementation of welfare schemes of Punjab Government.Prominent amongst present on the occasion included ADC D SP Angra, vishal soni , Tara singh and officials of various departments.
