DSEJ launches Home Based Learning Module on ECCE created by NDF and UNICEF

To compensate for the loss of learning due to COVID19 pandemic, Directorate of School Education Jammu, in collaboration with National Development Foundation, J&K and UNICEF, has launched a home based learning module, named 'Aanganshala' for the kids in the age group of 3 to 6 years which will be transacted in the field by education facilitators appointed by NDF for the purpose.The module was launched by DSEJ Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma at the inauguration of a two day orientation workshop of the Education facilitators of NDF, here today.Speaking at the occasion, he stressed on making the initiative a successful one and working earnestly towards the cause. He termed the initiative as a welcome step towards ensuring uninterrupted teaching-learning experience for the students in pre-primary groups. He also reiterated the Directorate's increased focus on making quality early childhood education a possibility for the students of Jammu division in the coming months.

It is pertinent to mention here that this home-based module is meant for taking education to the doorsteps of children in the age group of 3-6 years, who are presently out of school or in Anganwadi centres. Nearly 5000 children of Jammu division will be covered through this initiative.CEO and Director, NDF, J&K, Rajeev Khajuria in his address divulged about the impact the initiative was going to create in the field of ECCE in Jammu division and how NDF as an active partner with Department of School Education will undertake more such initiatives in future as well.Jaswinder Kour, Coordinator Pre-primary Education in Jammu division and Dr. Sarita Sharma, Assistant Coordinator, DRC, Pre-primary Education Jammu are acting as Resource Persons for the ongoing two day workshop.
