As part of the Government's ambitious Jan Abhiyan programme, the Block Diwas or Youm-e-Block was today observed at three blocks of district Kulgam viz. D.K.Marg, Kulgam and Pahloo.On the occasion, officers and officials from line departments listened to the issues, grievances and demands of the general public at all the three venues for their timely redressal. Meanwhile, to take first hand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat remained available at Kulgam where he listened to grievances, issues for redressal.People from Qaimoo, Laroo, Frisal, Bugam, Redwani Kulgam, Shalipora and other areas apprised the Deputy Commissioner about various issues and put forth their demand for redressal. During the proceedings, a large number of deputations, individuals from different areas flagged off their issues, grievances and demands to the DC. 

A deputation of farmers/orchardists raised the demand of compensation for the damage caused due to the recent snow spell.The Deputy Commissioner while responding to this deputation said that assessment of damage is being conducted and compensation to farmers will be provided soon.People also highlighted various issues and put forth various demands pertaining to PDD, Jal Shakti, PMGSY, R&B and other departments. The DC after giving patient hearing to the public addressed some of the grievances on spot and in the context of other demands and issues required to be redressed at higher level; he assured that the same will be forwarded to concerned authorities at an earliest for immediate considerations.ADC, ACD, ACP, Executive Engineers, Tehsildar Headquarter, BDOs and other officers were also present to respond to the queries and issues raised by the people.Meanwhile at block Pahaloo and D.K.Marg, officers listened to issues and grievances of people for timely redressal.
